Here I am sitting in front of my mother-in-law. She is sleeping... atleast it looks like that. But I know she is not having sound sleep. She is disturbed. Having disturbed sleep. Very very restless. In her sleep, she is moving her hands, moving her fingers, muttering something. I know she is happy inside. She has had her favorite lunch of fish curry, fried fish and rice.... after so long. To be precise, after nearly one and half month. One and half month of hospitalization. One and half month lying on the same bed in that confined space, seeing the same piece of sky from the same window. She is back home yesterday. Today I made her favorite fish for lunch. She ate well. She even said so... appreciated food... home food. And now in her sleep, she is remembering her sons; she wants her other son to have fish curry.. May be he too must have had good food for lunch. May be he might have had fish curry... yes, his wife is good cook too. But she is MOTHER. If she eats something good, she wants that her son should have it too. In her sleep she is moving hands as if she is serving someone. She is muttering her son's name in her sleep. Urging him to have some more fish, That is Mother's heart. Mother always thinks of her child. Always...whatever her condition is.. even if she herself is not well. In half consiousness too, she remembers that her child loves fish and she shouldn't eat same without offering it to him.

Sunday lunch
#sundaylunch today is "Mutton dhaniya" with 'tomato onion kachumber' and chapati (roti).
Right from childhood Sunday is associated with spicy non vegetarian food, as all members of the household use to enjoy this only lunch together in a whole week. After breakfast father use to head towards Grantroad market and mother use get busy in cutting, chopping, grinding masalas to prepare tasty fare. Sometimes I use to accompany Dad to market or Mom in preparations. Chatting, laughing and enjoying the process of preparing lunch alongwith Mom,Dad and sisters......Sunday Lunch always use to be something to look forward to.

Nirvana
"Kappi Nirvana" as it is rightly called..... chilled coffee infused with loads of vanilla ice-cream, topped with hearty dollop of whipped cream and finished with liberally sprinkled choco chips. ..... what else one can ask after shopping session in scorching Mumbai heat. And who cares about calorie count after attaining Nirvana? ๐๐๐
When is the time......?
When is the time you should let go?
When is the time you should keep yourself away from your child?
When is the time you should leave your child completely alone?
It hurts when you can see with open eyes that your child is leading a wrong path.
It hurts to see that your child is walking towards crevasse
And still you should not interfere.......
If you do, your kid who is just on his way to become a "Man" doesn't like it
Yes, there are certain lessons in life which one has to learn on his own....
But, if there is no way that one will get time to rectify his mistakes?
How can a mother keep quite and watch silently ?
HOW ?????
Why ?
Though I wept all night
with trembling memories,
Though I cried voraciously
for old days and worries,
still my clothes fit in
and I wear a sandle with hills
then I ask what has changed?
and wish nothing has
and I open a window,
sigh and realize I am alive"
Oh Lord why am I alive?
with trembling memories,
Though I cried voraciously
for old days and worries,
still my clothes fit in
and I wear a sandle with hills
then I ask what has changed?
and wish nothing has
and I open a window,
sigh and realize I am alive"
Oh Lord why am I alive?
